True Colours is a collection of bound magazines and leaflets cut through leaving solid blocks of elementary shapes whilst the bind remains in tact. The result is an aleatoric collage.
The centres are hollow which means that the shapes and patterns which are left need to be adjoining to the frame. The abstraction and disassociation the shapes have with the foremost border resemble the effect of magnetic and gravitational attraction. The bind and borders are the gravity holding the elements together.
The restriction that the edges hold on the blocks of colour is addressed in the Natural States collection.
